The Intermediate Grades are an adventure! These are the years when students are given the opportunity (and the tools) to step up and take ownership of their learning. Students in Grade 4 and 5 receive instruction in organizational skills, study skills, and time management along with their academic subjects to help them make the challenging, and often tricky, transition from learning to read to reading to learn. Add the natural curiosity of this age group to the mix and the result is a school year of impressive academic and personal growth.
Highlights of the English Language Arts/Math program:
I have been abundantly blessed to be a member of the St. Jerome School community for thirty-nine years. In that time, it has been an honor and a privilege to work with so many amazing St. Jerome students and witness their growth toward becoming the joy-filled Christian leaders that our world surely needs. I know the value of a Catholic education personally, being a product of Catholic schools myself, from elementary school to college. I have two degrees from Loyola Marymount University (Go Lions!) and hold a current California Multiple Subject K-12 credential.
Working at St. Jerome School allows me to openly share my faith with my students and integrate it into my instruction. I teach inquisitive intermediate grade students who inspire me on a daily basis with their candor and sense of wonder. Outside of school, I enjoy reading and exploring new restaurants and points of interest in the greater Los Angeles area.
