WELCOME TO FIFTH GRADE
Dear Parents and Students,
My name is Serene Smith and I am the fifth grade homeroom teacher for the 2018-2019 school year. I teach 4th grade and 5th grade Math and Science, along with 5th grade Social Studies and Religion. This is my second year at St. Jerome School. I have previously taught K-12th grade at Catholic schools. I was also part of the STEM Committee for Los Angeles Catholic Schools, which was led by Loyola Marymount University. Also, I have done marketing and admissions for a Catholic high school.
I have earned two degrees from Loyola Marymount University. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Individual and Family and a Master of Arts degree in Education with an emphasis in Elementary and Literacy. I was blessed to have a Catholic education.
I feel at home when teaching at a Catholic school. I am excited to help strengthen students’ faith, build upon math and science skills, encourage the appreciation for history, increase writing abilities, and reinforce reading across all subject matter. I hope that students will leave fifth grade loving math and science.
If you have any questions, you may email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ms. Serene Smith
