Welcome to
Hi!
I'm excited to welcome you to middle school English Literature and Language Arts. Middle school brings terrific opportunities for students to gain a deeper understanding of the writing process as well as developing stronger reading comprehension skills. Building strong foundations in these areas will greatly help prepare students for high school. A little about me... I am passionate about teaching Literature and Language Arts. I first began teaching reading centers in elementary before moving to middle school. I think teaching middle schools is amazing! I have a B.A. in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing and I especially enjoy teaching students how to improve their writing skills. I think being a good writer can help students excel in school and in life. In my spare time, you will often find me camping and hiking. Spending time in nature is a fantastic way to recharge the body and soul. If I'm not hiking to a waterfall, I'm probably at the beach (watch out for me on the bike path). Finally, I am an avid sports fan. Growing up in the City of Angels, I have to say we have the best teams! A few fun facts... *When I was in the fifth grade, I did the hike to Half Dome for the first time. *I've had three dogs that were half Rottweiler and half Cocker Spaniel. *I've been to Yosemite more than 30 times in my life. *I threw out the first pitch at an Angels game. I am thrilled to join the faculty at St. Jerome School. One of the things I am most excited about is meeting the new students. We are going to have a terrific and successful school year one and I can't wait to begin! - Mr. Fleming |
