ALL ABOUT MS. GARCIA: Welcome to Saint Jerome Preschool 2017- 2018 school year!I am excited to begin my new journey and be a part of the St. Jerome family- Go Spartans! My name is Laura Garcia named after my beloved mother and best friend. I was born in Acaponeta Nayarit , Mexico and I am the oldest of four! I have a younger sister and two brothers. The youngest member of our family is my six year old daughter who is my little pumpkin born on Halloween. She is my gift from God, my world and inspiration.
I began my studies to pursue my passion to become a teacher-can't wait! I was the first in my family to graduate from college and fulfill my parents dream of acquiring an education. I earned an A.A Degree from East Los Angeles College and a Bachelors Degree at Cal State Dominguez Hills (GO TOROS!) as a Liberal Studies Major in Education.
I love my field and working with children. Early Childhood Education sparked a great interest in me while working as a paraprofessional with the SRLDP preschool program in the Los Angeles Unified School District. I was assigned to a Pre-K classroom with two veteran outstanding mentors, Mrs. Pamela Blanks and Marcia White. I knew in my heart from that key moment, experience and being a part of the small world of children that I discovered my true calling from God.
I feel very blessed by this opportunity to continue doing what I love most here at SJS: * Be a part of a Childs first time and experience in school. * Develop a love for learning and give them a strong educational foundation. * Creating special and long lasting memories in preschool that they will treasure!
