Dear St. Jerome Families, I write to you today in a moment of deep sorrow and heartbreak. We are learning, in real time, about the tragic events that unfolded at Annunciation Catholic Church and School in Minneapolis, Minnesota, during the school’s student body morning Mass. This news is beyond comprehension, and our hearts ache for the students, families, parishioners, and staff whose lives have been so profoundly affected. In the coming days, we will determine how we, as a Catholic school community, can unite in prayer and solidarity with Annunciation. We will also work with our wider Catholic school family across the nation to support the Annunciation community and the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. For now, I ask that we all: - Keep the Annunciation community in our prayers. - Remain vigilant and follow our established safety procedures at St. Jerome School. - Hug our children. We are all united in grief. In time, answers about what led to this horrific act will come, but today we focus on those who were lost—the most innocent among us—so that they are never forgotten. Let us lead with God’s love and embrace one another in prayer. Donuts for Dads is this Friday. This year the theme is Rock and Roll, so we ask that you wear your favorite Rock and Roll themed attire and join us for a celebration in your honor. we will celebrate Ms. Gloria Maldonado at the LAX Coastal Educations Teacher Eddy Awards Ceremony. Ms. Maldonado has been sculpting and helping students at St. Jerome School for 26 years!
She runs the extended care program, supervises all recesses and lunches, and keeps all SJS's cumulative records in perfect order.
